Who else can’t believe it’s already August? Where did the summer go?! I wanted to share a bunch of different half up styles with dutch braids because they are one of my very favorite braids. School is just around the corner so hopefully these will give you some inspiration for some back-to-school hairstyles. Thank you so much for watching! xoxo, Missy 5 Half Up Dutch Braid Hairstyles Supplies: Rattail comb Hair sectioning clip Elastic bands Bobby pins Medium-hold hairspray Half Up Single Dutch Braid Instructions: Step 1 / Divide off a large section of hair at the top of the head and braid this into a dutch braid, crossing the side strands under the middle strand. Step 2 / Bring in two new sections right next to the braid. Step 3 / Then bring in two sections from the temples and then above the ears. Step 4 / Pull on the edges to make it wider. Step 5 / Tie off the bottom of the braid with a clear elastic band but pull the hair halfway through to create a little loop. Step 6 / Wrap the ends around the elastic band at the top of the loop and tuck the ends into the elastic underneath the bun. —————- Half Up Double Dutch Braids Instructions: Step 1 / Create a center part, clipping away one half of the hair. Step 2 / Braid one half into a dutch braid working along the top of the head, pulling in hair from the part line and hairline. Step 3 / Stop braiding once it reaches the back of the head and pull on the edges to make the braid fuller. Step 4 / Create a little bun at the end of the braid, pulling the hair halfway through an elastic band and wrapping the ends around the elastic, tucking the ends into the elastic. Step 5 / Repeat the same steps with the other section of hair on the opposite side. ————- Half Up Mini Dutch Braids Instructions: Step 1 / With a center part, begin braiding the hair in a dutch braid along the hair line, bringing in small sections from the hair line and from the backside of the braid. Step 2 / When the braid reaches the top of the head, stop adding in hair and continue braiding the section down to the ends. Step 3 / Repeat the same steps with the hair on the opposite side. Step 4 / Take both braids and bring them around the back of the head and tie them together with a clear elastic band. Half Up Dutch Crown Braids Instructions: Step 1 / Part the hair where you normally part it. Begin braiding one side of the hair, bringing in sections from both the top of the head and from along the hairline. Step 2 / Once the braid reaches the ear, stop adding in sections and continue braiding the hair down to the ends. Step 3 / Repeat the same steps with the hair on the opposite side. Step 4 / Go back over the braids, pulling on the edges to make them fuller. Step 5 / Take one braid and pin it at the back of the head. Step 6 / Pin the other braid over the end of the previous braid. ————– Dutch Headband Hairstyle Instructions: Step 1 / Divide out the hair that is going to be braided and clip away the hair at the back of the head. Step 2 / Begin a dutch braid above the right ear, bringing in hair from along the hairline and to the backside of the braid. Step 3 / Continue the braid up the right side of the head and along the top of the head, continuing the braid down the left side of the head. Step 4 / Stop adding in new sections once the braid reaches the left ear and continue braiding the section in a regular three strand braid. Step 5 / Divide off a small section of hair from the back of the head and tie the end of the braid to this section with a clear elastic band. Step 6 / Hide the end of the braid with the hair from the top of the head.
