DescriptionThese handmade brass decorative wheels and pallets are used by bookbinders and furniture makers for the finishing process of applying gold decoration to the cover of a book. While typically used on leather on the cover of a book in gold, they can also be used on cloth, paper and other surfaces in other colors. These tools are deeply engraved on hard brass, with extra thick heads for better heat retention. The outside forms are cut closely to the design in order to improve sighting. All have have a domed face which greatly aids "putting the tool down" while giving more life to the impression. Decorative Wheels are available in 3" and 1 1/2" sizes. They are used with an interchangeable fork and handle which must be purchased separately. Pallets are also engraved with approx. 3".
