Olive, June LA Salon, Sarah Gibson Tuttle Interview

Description

Manicure inspiration from L.A.'s coolest salon.
Two things about this mani: First, I love a good nude nail. Second, the Comme des Garçons heart is one of the best ways to get nail art noticed.
Aside from the occasional pop of burgundy, neutrals — think nudes and lavender grey — are having a moment in L.A.
[This] take on an evil eye is not only perfect for summer with it’s crisp white and negative space, but it gives a nod to the spiritual good vibes that California is all about.
If you adore a two-tone mani, but you don't want it to be so in-your-face, go with this neat take on geometrics.

My girl Deborah Lippmann knows her greys. I wasn’t surprised that the super cute Lauren Conrad picked this sophisticated color [shown here]. It’s the new neutral.
I love the white. I love the commitment to a single accent nail. And, I salute the simplicity of only using two colors. This manicure is total confidence!
Ladylike nails are in in in. Medium length nails that are pointy, almond, or follow the natural nail bed are extremely flattering.
If you are going to do nail art on every finger, then it’s good to pick one motif and stick with it. Consistency makes wild, wearable.
Everyone gets a manicure right before they go on vacation. [My top nail tip is to] ask your salon to give you a pair of disposable gloves so that you can wear them while you pack. Packing is a huge amount of the wear and tear on your nails.
So good! People might not notice [the subtle triangles] at first, but the ones who pay attention to the details are going to do a double take!
