The track's got a simple jazzy approach that's plenty wonderful -- a style that was quite rare at the time, and which brought an older style of singing firmly into the world of modern soul -- yet managed to do so without any of the cliches that hurt other attempts of the sort. The backing is simple and effective -- and drops out at just the right moments to let Sade's warm vocals come in and wrap up the whole tune. And the extended mix here features some nice jazzy breakdowns -- showing that the group really knew what they were doing!
