Target Australia is a discount retailer owned by Wesfarmers that operates exclusively in Australia. Despite having the same logo, it is not directly affiliated with the US discount retailer of the same name. Target first opened in 1926 under the name Lindsay's Emporium in Geelong, Victoria. In 1968, the chain was purchased by Myer Emporium and in 1970 was renamed Lindsay's Target, then Target Australia Pty. in 1973.
