A road trip away from Sacramento, San Jose, or Reno. Exit the freeway and find your funway to Travel Chico.
During the Chico Velo Wildflower Century, bicycle riders can choose from seven route options ranging from 12 to 125 miles throughout Butte County. All routes begin and end at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds, and the event is designed for riders at all ages, stages, and abilities. The event kicks off each year with Wildfest, a pre-ride celebration, rider check-in, food trucks, and a vendor expo which is free and open to the public. This event occurs every April, with early registration opening in December.
The Silver Dollar Fair is held every Memorial Day weekend at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds. This annual event has everything you need to have a great fair experience: fried foods on a stick, carnival games, exhibitions, animal showings and auctions, concerts, auto races, a rodeo, and rides. Make sure that you check out the entertainment calendar!
Take an evening stroll through Downtown Chico for the Art & Wine Walk, which kicks off a month-long art showcase every October with wine, beer, and cider tastings, live music, and the opportunity to meet your favorite artist! The art on display features an exciting blend of paintings, ceramics, and sculpture—all produced by local artists.
