These Vintage 1960s black lace tap shorts are a complete unique addition to your wardrobe, and an unexpected styling piece that pair with anything to instantly add that French-girl-cool. Also known as French knickers, tap shorts became popular in the 1920s and were a flapper girl wardrobe staple. They got their name from being popularized by dancers— this clip of Ginger Rogers in the 1936 film Follow the Fleet is a perfect example of how tap shorts were worn in the early 20th century. In keeping with the traditional silhouette, this pair feature a high elastic waist, with lace appliqué and a scalloped lace trim. This pair would be great layered under a sheer skirt or dress, for a peek-a-boo Dolce & Gabbana inspired look. Made in the USA. The Vintage Italian Black Lace Camisole and Vintage Gold Doorknocker Earrings pictured are also available.
