Yale adopts test-flexible admissions policy

Description

The university will require test scores but accept alternatives to the SAT and ACT. Officials hope it’s the right mix of rigor and flexibility for a post-pandemic era. Yale University is adopting what it calls a test-flexible policy on standardized exam requirements, in which applicants must submit test scores but can choose to replace the traditional SAT or ACT with Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate exams. The policy will go into effect next admissions cycle.
